Mira Simone Parker

We've decided to give our new daughter the name Mira Simone.

Mira, is a female named derived in part, from Michelle's Dad's name Mariano. It has several origins (according to the internets): in Latin, wonderful; Sanskrit, prosperous, mir is a common Slavik word for peace; and mirar in Spanish means to watch or look.

Simone is for Matt's great-aunt Anna Simone who passed away recently, and who Michelle was fortunate enough to meet shortly before.

Mira Simone was born on Monday, September 18th, 2006, at 4:59PM CST at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. She weighed 6lbs 7oz and was 18.5 inches long.
